Top notch farm to table food! They have a daily menu that's amazing! Your pick of two meats, pick 2 of numerous homemade sides, your choice of bread, and dessert (they had 3 options today... Amazzzzing German chocolate cake), plus tea, lemonade, or water. Total price is $9.50, for the entire meal, dessert, and drink! (You can pass on dessert and your total is $8.50). They have an all "vegetable" option, that you can order with or without dessert for the same prices. Today's sides were acre peas, rice and gravy, turnip greens, macaroni and cheese (ahhhmazing), side salad (awesome & super fresh, tomato lovers dream), and one or two more that I can't remember in my food fog! I'm only in town to work for two weeks, and I wish I'd found this gem sooner! Their food is delicious, fresh, and inexpensive. The quantities are huge! I had grown men with me that couldn't finish their plates. Not to mention the restaurant's local, and the interior is eclectic, adorable, charming, and clean, plus the service is fantastic! Once you're done gorging, check out the butcher shop and local market attached! Bon appetit!
The cafe at Carter and Son's features farm to table offerings, with traditional southern recipes. Great lunch at a reasonable price. Coupled with friendly service. All the tables are normally occupied at lunch, so don't be afraid to ask to join a table with an empty seat and make a new friend.
